Welcome to the 2024 Westfield Youth Football / Cheer Registration!

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment. Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available.  Following the completion of this registration, you will see a charge on your account from WYF/C.

Registration will be open 3/1/2024-5/31/2024

The teams are based on the grade the child will be entering next school year (2024-2025):

Mini Cheer/Flag Football- Grades 1-2 

Pee Wee Tackle/Cheer- Grades 3-4 

Junior Cheer Tackle/Cheer- Grades 5-6

Senior Cheer Tackle/Cheer- Grades 7-8

Mini and Flag: $125 Cheer: $200 Tackle: $245

Practices for the Fall 2024 season will begin August 5, 2024

(August 13, 2024 for Mini Cheer and Flag Football)

DUE TO NEW SAFL RULES- TACKLE FOOTBALL PLAYERS MUST EITHER LIVE OR ATTEND SCHOOL IN WESTFIELD OR SURROUNDING AREAS (THAT DO NOT HAVE A FOOTBALL PROGRAM). This applies to children that have previously been playing with WYFC, unless the player will be in 8th grade or is a sibling of a returning 8th grade player. The SAFL will not allow for any exceptions. Please reach out with any questions.

Where is practice held?

• Practice is held at the Westfield High School field- 177 Montgomery Rd. Westfield MA 01085 

What is the practice and game schedule like*?

• Flag Football and Mini Cheer- Practices and Games are typically 2 nights a week, usually held on Tuesdays and Thursdays for one hour between 5:00 and 7:30. Practices will be held on both days until games begin, and then there will be one day for games and one day for practice.
• Cheer- Practices are typically 2 nights a week, usually held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 7:00. Cheering during Varsity football games is once a week, typically on Sunday, with occasional Saturdays. 
• Tackle Football- Before school and games start, practices are held M-F for approximately 2 hours between 5:00 and 7:30. Once games are being held, practices will be T-F, with one game on the weekend. Games are once a week, with JV games mostly on Saturday and Varsity Games mostly on Sundays (with occasional Saturday games). JV and Varsity teams will be determined by the coach, based on whether there are enough players to have both teams. 
• *PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE TYPICAL SCHEDULES BASED ON PREVIOUS YEARS BUT THEY ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

How much travel is involved?

• No travel for Flag Football and Mini Cheer
• Cheer and Tackle Football will have home and away games. Home games are held at Bullens Field behind Westfield Technical Academy. Away games can be held in any of the following towns: 
  • Agawam
  • Belchertown
  • Chicopee
  • East Longmeadow
  • Holyoke
  • Longmeadow
  • West Springfield
  • Wilbraham

When does the season start/end?

• Season begins the first or second week in August.
• Regular Season ends towards the end of October, with play off and championship games in early/mid-November. Flag Football and Mini Cheer seasons end in October.
